Sydney instructors Melanie Hitchcock and Darrio 'Manifest' Phillips treated more than 50 students to a hip-hop style workshop.
Dubbo Ballet Studio principal, Anna Bloomfield, said the workshop would offer the students a completely different approach to dancing.
"It's totally different to the normal ballet training we do," Mrs Bloomfield said.
The hip-hop style originated in New York City, Mrs Bloomfield said, and was the perfect way for students to explore different ways of moving their body.
"With hip-hop and street dancing, they're able to connect more to the music," Mrs Bloomfield said.
"We want them to be able to feel things rather than imitate shapes with their bodies."
While the senior students were grooving away with Ms Hitchcock, Darrio 'Manifest' Phillips worked with the younger aspiring dancers, focusing more on the hip-hop choreography, and the occasional street slang.
